An diesem Song habe ich über 15 Jahre gefeilt. Die erste Fassung war eher chansonartig und hieß auch “quand tu m´ aime”. Sie war mir in meiner damaligen Künstlermansarde in der Severinstraße in der Kölner Südstadt eingefallen. Nach und nach machte ich einen jazzigen Bossa daraus mit diesem swingenden Mittelteil. Der englische Text entstand ganz beiläufig durch die Floskel “Keep on diggin´”, und wurde später immer wieder überarbeitet. Ich denke die vorliegende Version ist nicht so schlecht, oder? Jedenfalls hat sie dem Kabarettisten Lars Reichow so gut gefallen, daß er sie in seinem Kurzfilm “Weil ich dich mag”( Regie Daniel Walta) in meiner CD-Version als Filmmusik verwendet hat...
